VOTE-Removal Of Current Fleet Development Officer

Post by sjet »

This vote has been discussed and called for by the 22nd Fleet GM Council to address the needs of the Fleet, and in no way reflects on conduct or actions of the current sitting officer.

Following this vote, for the time remaining in the 2020 officer cycle, the duties of Fleet Development Officer will be held jointly by the Chair and Vice-Chair until the election of a new Fleet Development Officer by the 7th of December 2020. With this in mind, both I and the Vice-Chair will abstain from voting on this motion in accordance with our election by-laws on voting for one's self.
Removal
1)-The Council shall have the power to remove any of its Officers or Chairpersons from office.
2)-The individual facing the removal vote shall not be allowed to vote.
3)-Regardless of the outcome of the vote, any sim the Officer or Chairperson leads shall not be banished or removed from the Fleet.
4)-The vote shall require a 66% majority and a 75% quorum in order to be considered valid.
18 needed to meet Quorum with a standing 28 member GM Council with 23 declared active.

This vote will run for 72 hours.

The vote has ended, with a quorum of 18 reached and a majority vote of 83% (83.3% for those interested) in favour of the proposal. I would like to thank everyone who participated, as this was not a vote taken lightly and one that will have no lasting impact on the standing of TheeFlameHead within our community.

Going forward, for the remainder of the time left to us before the 2021 elections, the duties of the FDO will be shared between the Chair and Vice-Chairperson until a new FDO is voted in.

In closing these events have highlighted a shortfall in our leadership contingencies where real-world events can and do superseded this hobby of ours. As it should be. But we will be opening a discussion about amending it so we can react faster than a sloth taking antihistamines.
